Journal club: Podcast with the authors

Late last semester, we invited the author of a paper we had read in journal club to join us for a conversation after her paper. The conversation was so rich with insight that I later regretted we kept it to ourselves. And so, this semester we decided to invite the authors of papers we read to join our discussion, with the intent of recording and distributing author conversations as a podcast.
Our first author conversation will take place tomorrow, September 25, with Suzanne Maman and Frieda Behets from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Earlier this semester we read their recent paper in Social Science and Medicine, but we were unable to arrange the author conversation for the same date. Now’s our chance.
Please join us at our usual time, 10:40 a.m., in the Conference Room in the Center for African Studies (Grinter 479). We will use the first half hour to review the article and revisit the key points from our previous discussion. Then, at 11:15 a.m., we will connect with Drs. Maman and Behets for what is sure to be a great discussion. If all goes well with the technology, we intend to publish an audio podcast of the conversation in coming weeks. Stay tuned!
