Welcome back, and happy new year! Our first journal club meeting will be this Friday, 11:45 a.m. – 12:35 p.m., in the Diaspora Room (1350 Turlington). I will moderate our discussion of
a recent review article by Bill Dressler:

Dressler, W. W. (2008). Meaning and structure in research in medical anthropology. Anthropology in Action, 14(3), 30-43.

This article discusses a theoretical perspective that ran through many of our discussions in the fall and should provide a useful starting point for our discussions this semester. Go grab the PDF over at the journal club page.

Our first order of business is to fill up the schedule for this semester. Some of you suggested articles that we didn’t have time for last semester, so please let me know when you’d like to lead our discussion this semester. (I took the liberty of putting a couple of you on the schedule already; please let me know if these times aren’t good for you.)
